E-mail Groups
RPOA has two e-mail groups: announce@rpoa.simplelists.com and discuss@rpoa.simplelists.com.
announce@rpoa.simplelists.com
announce is a low-volume, announcements-only, moderated e-mail distribution list for important neighborhood news and announcements. All members are added. Traffic is kept very light (generally less than one post per week) and “reply-all” is disabled. If you have something you’d like to send to this list, route it to info@rpoa.site with a brief explanation of when and why it should go to the group.
To be suitable for distribution to this list, an announcement or news item must be related to the neighborhood and relevant to a significant portion of neighbors. Examples: information of an emergency-related nature (does not take the place of the county’s alert system), RPOA meeting and event announcements, RPOA organizational news, announcements of new residents, news related to water service/resort/park, announcements of events open to all neighbors, monthly neighborhood newsletter.

discuss is an open forum for neighborhood discussion and is only lightly moderated. Suggested topics: social/activity coordinating, volunteer opportunities, buy/sell, discussion of topics related to the neighborhood, and the like. Please treat each other with respect. RPOA reserves the right to moderate content, ban participants, or take any other action to manage the group that it deems appropriate, at its sole discretion. By posting, the poster grants to RPOA a perpetual, royalty-free, unlimited license to use, reproduce, and make derivitive works from the post (e.g. archive the content for posterity or reproduce it in print form in the form of a newsletter).
Please abstain from the following in RPOA’s e-mail groups:
- mature language and subject matter,
- personal attacks, “flaming”, or lack of civility,
- appeals for monetary donations (e.g. GoFundMe appeals, charity appeals, Kickstarter announcements),
- commercial solicitation,
- news of a non-local nature covered by other outlets,
- spam,
- links that go to a non-obvious location (e.g.
http://www.weather.gov/is okay, buthttps://tinyurl.com/33vxajveis not), - attachments or embedded images.
